Pub Rock Choir
The Pub Rock Choir was inspired by 2016 mentorship program ‘Bundaberg in Voice’. This was a partnership between Creative Regions and Brisbane-based Women in Voice and saw local singers and performers develop a cabaret show for the Crush Festival. Audience feedback from Bundaberg in Voice revealed that so many people in our community wanted to sing, but felt they could not be part of a choir because they had no training.
The Pub Rock Choir fills that gap by providing a fun, social opportunity for people to come together to sing the songs they know and love. Participants do not need to read music, and no formal training in singing or music is required.
Pub Rock Choir is led by choirmasters Christie McLucas and Laura Lingwood, both Bundaberg-based musicians with extensive experience in choir, theatre and main-stage productions.
