The Pub Rock Choir (PRC) is an adults-only choir singing Australian rock and contemporary classics in the Bundaberg region’s hotels and pubs. The choir’s aims are simple: to bring people together to enjoy music and singing together.
The Pub Rock Choir was inspired by 2016 mentorship program ‘Bundaberg in Voice’. This was a partnership between Creative Regions and Brisbane-based Women in Voice and saw local singers and performers develop a cabaret show for the Crush Festival. Audience feedback from Bundaberg in Voice revealed that so many people in our community wanted to sing, but felt they could not be part of a choir because they had no training.
The Pub Rock Choir fills that gap by providing a fun, social opportunity for people to come together to sing the songs they know and love. Participants do not need to read music, and no formal training in singing or music is required.
PRC is led by choirmasters Christie Marschke and Laura Lingwood, both Bundaberg-based musicians with extensive experience in choir, theatre and mainstage productions.
The choir rehearses fortnightly in various Bundaberg pubs, and presents at least three public performances each year.

Singing is good for the soul. PRC’s aim is to be fun, accessible and welcoming, providing all adults with an opportunity to participate in singing for their own well-being.
