Cultural Heritage Trail for Banana Shire Council
Creative Regions recently completed an Interpretive Plan for a Cultural Heritage Trail through the Banana Shire region. In April 2009 Co-Directors Dr Judy Pippen and Shelley Pisani visited the region and met with over 70 people at 10 community workshops. The towns/ localities of Thangool, Biloela, Jambin, Goovigen, Wowan/Dululu, Baralaba, Moura, Theodore, Taroom and Cracow opened their eyes to a wealth of stories, people and places that are significant to their communities from the early pioneers to the importance of the rail and mining industries to the region.
Shelley Pisani developed a draft document that was distributed for feedback before a final meeting with the Regional Arts Development Fund Committee.
